Having established 27 years ago the professional holiday of Customs, young Pridnestrovain State emphasized crucial role and high public importance of Customs Service, and confirmed the worthy contribution of customs officers to the social-economic development and security assurance of the Republic.
This day the State Customs Committee expresses deep respect to the veterans of customs bodies who built a firm foundation of the Pridnestrovian Customs.
Today Customs Service is stable, confident in its forces and abilities. Customs administration of Pridnestrovie keeps with the spirit of times and makes no allowances for stopping. The past year a number of significant steps were taken to solve tasks that have been set by the President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselky – to form a qualitatively new Customs that will be unnoticeable for law-abiding business and efficient for the state. One of its core elements of this process has become digitalization of Customs.
The fundamental stage of the automation of customs procedures and operations is the introduction of electronic customs declaration system. Since 1 January 2019 this system has been launched for goods placed under the export procedure. It allowed to speed up significantly customs procedures and reduce transport costs of the enterprises. For 9 months of 2019 officers of the E-Declaration Centre has released over 50 000 electronic export declarations. The average release time has averaged 15-20 minutes.
Customs innovations have also touched small business activity. For 9 months of the current year individual entrepreneurs completed via e-declaration system about 40 000 declarations.
Since the begging of this year Customs Service of the PMR has introduced additional electronic services for a wide range of citizens. For interested persons special service “Customs calculator for automobiles” has been launched on the official website of the State Customs Committee. This new instrument allows to calculate the amount of customs duties and taxes in accordance with introduced parameters.
High attention has been traditionally paid to interaction with public and business community with a view to raise public awareness in customs sphere. This year special information papers for travellers and guests of Pridnestrovie have been issued.
Customs Service of PMR has continued the process of simplification of customs formalities for economic agents. Special attention has been focused on problems of domestic producers: a number of amendments to customs legislation were made taking into account entrepreneurs’ position.
Formation of a qualitatively new customs based on international standards is a major task. Taking into account high responsibility and commitment of customs officers, it will be carried out within the approved time frame. This confidence was expressed by the head of the Department during a visit to the structural units of the State Customs Service of Pridnestrovie.
