The Head of the State Customs Committee of Transdniestria Gennady Kuzmichev emphasized the principal position of Transdniestrian Customs at the beginning of the meeting: customs authorities operated and operate outside the politics, and officers of the State Customs Committee consider the issues from the position of customs activity oriented to international standards.
Deputy Head of the State Customs Committee Boris Рanko gave explanations on customs law regulating procedure for transportation of goods, humanitarian cargoes imported free of duty. Representatives of Transdniestrian Customs explained that customs bodies of Transdniestria did not intended to hamper in movement of goods destined for such lyceums. At the same time, customs control procedures and compilation of customs statistics are necessary and mandatory procedures, and customs bodies of Transdniestria operate exceptionally in the framework of law.
Also in the course of the meeting parties discussed situation formed at the border of microdistrict “Severny” (Bendery city, Transdniestria) and Varnitsa village (Moldova). The Chief of the State Customs Committee of Transdniestria Gennady Kuzmichev explained the essence of the situation and gave reasons for appropriateness of performance of customs control on this segment of the border. He emphasized that all actions of Transdniestrian customs officers on 27 of April were in the legal framework.
At the end of the meeting the parties expressed the willingness to develop contacts that will contribute to settlement of issues related to customs activity in Transdniestria.
