Customs tariffs – 2020 were adopted by Regulations of the Government of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic №353 и №354 of 30 September 2019. The documents set rates of import and export duties to be applied in foreign trade next year.
Customs tariffs were elaborated on the basis of comprehensive analysis of the domestic market needs, production volumes, and taking into account the need for further encouraging domestic manufactures. In the process of elaboration, the inter-agency commission took into account propositions made by small and medium-size businesses. The final document included entrepreneurs’ requests in respect of more than 100 codes of goods nomenclature.
Import tariff-2020 continues the trend of setting a zero per cent rate of import duty on goods used in manufacturing process solely. For instance, in 2020 a zero duty rate will be applied for rawstock, threads and yarn, raw materials for metallurgy industry. At the same time in the framework of the Import Substitution Program import tariffs for separate goods will be in increased in 2020 (e.g. for portlandcement from 10% in 2019 to 20% in 2020).
As in the previous year new customs tariff establishes duty rates on the level of subheadings.
