Since 1 January 2019 the State Customs Committee of Pridnestrovie launched electronic customs declaration system for purposes of further simplification and speeding up of customs procedures in compliance with global customs standards and best practices. This technology provided for the amended Customs Code of the PMR (in force since January 2018) has put interaction between customs bodies and business community on the new level (paperless customs clearance without visiting Customs).
Electronic declaring system provides declaring to Customs exact information on goods and vehicles, on their customs procedure and other data required for release of goods in the form of electronic document using electronic transmission of data via the Internet.
Initially the electronic declaration is applied for goods placed under the export procedure. Subsequently the e-declaration technology is expected to cover the rest customs procedures in accordance with Customs Code of the PMR. Its principal function is to reduce paper work, to minimize the subjective factor as well as to lower costs of enterprises relating to declaring of goods.
The introduction of electronic customs declaring system is one of tangible steps towards Digital Customs with fully automated and electronic activity that contributes to the effectiveness and efficiency of Customs.
