GPS vehicle tracking system introduced in Customs practice

The State Customs Committee of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic introduced in all regional Customs houses GPS vehicle tracking system as alternative security measure for delivery of goods to customs office of destination.

This system was initially put into operation in Pridnestrovian customs bodies in August 2014, and it was tested on the only route “Customs check point Bendery (Chisinau) – Bendery customs house”.  Since that time more than 300 vehicles were tracked with GPS system, meanwhile IT specialists of the State Customs Committee had been controlling operation process to detect and eliminate weak spots, as well as had been adjusting hardware and software components of the system for further launching in all structural units.

The introduced GPS vehicle tracking system now is available at 19 routes from the South to the North of the Republic. Specialists note that it provides a significant advantage of  speeding up of preliminary customs procedures when delivering goods to customs office of destination. At this stage GPS vehicle tracking system is applied to goods imported to the customs territory of the Republic.
